Kit review: Stolen Goat Utah Ibex Bodyline Jersey
Reviewed by Emily
FEATURES
The fabric for this Stolen Goat jersey is buttery soft, very stretchy, quick drying and really lightweight, so great for me as I tend to overheat really easily when I’m exercising! There are the usual cycling jersey features - three pockets at the back, full length zip, soft elastic cuffs.
SIZING AND FIT
I’d say this fits slightly on the small side, and I find it quite short at the front. While it is longer at the back there is a pronounced difference in hem length. It’s also designed to be tight fitting. The size chart for the XXXL (largest size available) says it fits a 46” bust, 41” waist and 50” hip. I’m currently a 46” bust, a 41” waist and 52” hip - I tried this size according to my bust measurement, and the fact that the jersey is extremely stretchy. However, if there was a choice I would definitely size up! My best guess is that this would fit someone with a quite short torso who was well within all the measurements given on the size chart (so size 18-20 depending on how tight you like your cycling jerseys).
PERFORMANCE
I have a reasonably long torso, so found this jersey a bit to sort at the front - it sits right on my belly rather than coming down beneath it. A combination of this, the slanted hem and the fact that I am slightly outside the sizes given on the chart means that this jersey does tend to ride up more others I own. However, I still reach for it on warm days because it is so lightweight and quick drying and breathable, and I really love the colour! Because I wear pretty high waisted bib shorts when I’m on the bike the riding up doesn’t cause me any discomfort and I stay covered.
