Regional Walks

We have launched Every Body Outdoors local groups in a number of regions around the UK. These regional groups offer a programme of outdoor activities in a safe, supportive and inclusive space for plus size people, allowing them to gain confidence in the outdoors and build community with other plus size people.

FAQs

Can I turn up on my own?

Most people come to our walks on their own! We know it can be a bit nerve-wracking, but our community is really friendly and welcoming to newcomers.

Can I bring my kids or my dog?

Unfortunately we can’t have under 18s on our walks because of safeguarding. Dogs are allowed at the discretion of the walk leader - it is their decision and often depends on the route.

How can I find out more about the route?

All our walks have a detailed walk description, and are plotted on Komoot so you can work out if the route is right for you. If you still have questions, please get in touch!

What if I can no longer make it?

Our walks are all volunteer run, so please let us know if you can’t attend. We provide an email address in the walk description so just send us an email so we can let the walk leader know.

What time does the walk end?

While we try and give an estimate of the end time of a walk, it can be difficult to guarantee a finish time as we go at a pace to suit the whole group.

Will I be too slow?

We walk at a gentle pace, and our walks are run at a speed that works for the whole group so nobody gets left behind! Our walks are also capped in numbers to help with group management.

Can I bring along my non-plus size friend or partner?

Generally the answer is no. Our walks are designed to be a safe space for the whole group, and having a non-plus size person can affect the experience for others. You can always email to ask if there is a specific reason though.
