Kit review: Outdoor Research Ferrosi Pants
Reviewed by Emily
FEATURES:
These trousers are made from a lightweight, quick drying, breathable fabric with an incredible amount of stretch. They are also a bit of protection from the weather being wind and water resistant. There are lots of pockets - one on the back and one on the hip are both zipped if you need to keep anything really safe. The waistband is lined with a lovely soft fabric, and has a drawcord inside that you can tie if you need any adjustment, and the ankles also have an adjustable band.
SIZING AND FIT:
These are available in sizes up to US24W and I am wearing a size 20W in the short length. The size chart says this should fit a 44” waist and 50” hips, and I ended up choosing the size according to my waist measurement (43”) and they comfortably stretch over my hips (53”) and thighs without any restriction on my movement.
PERFORMANCE:
As we are coming into the summer months and the weather is getting warmer these are becoming one of my go-to items of clothing. They are super comfortable, and probably the lightest outdoor trousers that I have ever worn. I love that they are available in a short leg length, as usually all trousers are a couple of inches too long for my little legs. I also really like that they have a slimmer cut on the lower leg than others that I have tried, which combined with the cuff adjustment means that there is no danger of any flapping round your ankles. Having worn these a lot over the last few months I can attest that the fabric is holding up really well and showing no signs of wear in the usual places (between the thighs). Overall a very enthusiastic thumbs up from me!
