Kit review: Keela Rainlife waterproof trousers

FEATURES
These fully lined waterproof trousers are tough and durable, and can either be worn as waterproof over-trousers or on their own. They have zips up to the knee to help getting them on and off over your boots, and poppers that allow you to access your pockets in your trousers underneath. The waist is elasticated and also has a toggle so you can cinch it in to fit snugly. They also come in 3 different leg lengths, which is really useful.

SIZE AND FIT
I'm a 41 inch waist and 51 inch hip and tested the size 20, which the size chart said fits a 37 inch waist (no hip measurement given). They were SO SPACIOUS on the waist - when I pulled them out they stretch to a 52 inch waist! There was a big of space around the hips, and LOADS of space on the thighs. I have quite narrow thighs (around 27 inch circumference) and I reckon the thighs on the trousers would go up to around 36 inch circumference. I actually think they would fit someone with larger thighs better as I found there was quite a lot of loose fabric on me.

PERFORMANCE

These are really sturdy and durable trousers. I wore them over another pair of trousers when testing them, and found they were great in really cold weather, but got a bit warm in milder months. The other side of them being lined is they are a bit bulkier and heavier to carry around than some other pairs. I think they'd be really great for colder areas like Scotland, especially on really wet days, or for wearing without trousers underneath on wet milder days.
