Kit review: Stolen Goat Womens Kubrick Kiko Bodyline Jersey
Reviewed by Steph
As someone newly into cycling, as the weather got cooler, I started to wonder how I'd manage to keep cycling over the colder months. Traditionally I've just bodged together cycling outfits from my hiking clothing (teamed with a pair of padded cycling shorts), but that definitely gets harder in the winter where I find myself constantly stopping/starting as I take layers on and off.
Cue a foray into this warm long sleeve cycling from Stolen Goat. It's got a lovely warm lining, meaning it keeps you toasty on the cool winter days (though you probably want to layer up when it gets properly chilly), wind proof and water resistant for unpredictable weather, but yet still breathable if you're someone who gets sweaty at the hint of a hill like me. Tbh, a bit of a game changer to have a single jersey that keeps me at the right temperature during a ride.
It's listed as 44 – 46 inch chest, 39 – 42 inch waist and 47 – 49 inch hips, and it fits my 46 inch, 43 inch, 51 inch body fine. The main challenge is probably the length for me, as someone with a loooooooong body. It's just long enough, but does creep up slowly in the saddle. I'm aware I'm at the top/slightly above the size chart though, so that won't help, but folks who are tall/long in the body may want to be aware it's shorter than other brands in the same size.
All in all, it’s a great winter all round jersey, but definitely look carefully at the size chart. It’s at a price point that’ll appeal more to the keen cyclist than those just getting started, but it’s a quality piece of kit that’ll last for years.
