Kit review: Gregory Packs Amber 44 litre plus size rucksack

Reviewed by Kumbi

Highlights ✅
- The shoulder straps are very well padded and sit wider across the shoulders, which favourably reduces any feeling of carrying a heavy load.
- The sternum straps have an integrated safety whistle – sometimes it’s about the little things
- I have a small back and the adjustable torso means that I can have it on the shortest setting as one size does not fit all
- Rain cover, which is essential if you live in the UK and like being outdoors
- Hip belt with accessible pockets as these are a game changer for carrying and being able to access phone, hand cream, tissues and medication
- The hip belt also has an extended length which is great as it goes over my wide hips with plenty of length still left if needed
- Walking pole attachment as I always have my walking poles with me on big hikes.
- External pockets which enable quick easy access

This has become my favourite Day backpack as it is the right size to fit a combination of gear that I need. Be it hiking/scrambling in the snow, cold or/and wet UK winter days.

The padded features on the backpack cushion the weight that you are carrying. I normally have aching shoulders after a long day out however when I have worn the Amber backpack that has not been an issue.

The pack has been thoughtfully designed to reduce the number of times that you need to take the pack off to get access to the gear that you are carrying.

Gregory have excelled themselves and have gone down to the small detail, such as having custom moulded loop zipper pulls which are essential when wearing gloves.

My measurements are: Waist 124cm, Hips 143cm and Height 156cm.

RRP £165
