Kit review: D2D Windshield + Windproof Jacket
Reviewed by Steph
FEATURES:
This is the kind of jacket you take on a bike ride when it's looking like it's going to be windy or showery. It's pretty lightweight (though not small enough to pack in your jersey back pocket) and showerproof, and has several vents to help stop you getting too sweaty (one across the back, and two zippable ones at your waist). It's got a spacious zipped pocket at the back and one in the chest for valuables (or snacks!).
SIZE AND FIT:
I am wearing the size 4XL (the largest size). The size chart says this should fit a 46-47 inch chest, and I'm a 46 inch chest and 51 inch hip. I did have some space underneath and could maybe have sized down, but I'd worry it'd be too snug around my hips. It's most spacious around my chest, so would be fine if you're larger in the bust than me.
PERFORMANCE:
This is a great jacket for the price point - it does what it says on the tin and keeps you dry and warm in showers/wind. However, I did find that I did get sweaty if I wore it for a long time, but unless you're going to spend significantly more on a jacket, that's going to happen. The side vents are useful but I've had preferred them a bit further up if I'm honest as I think they'd be more effective there. But it's a great option if you're on a budget and has some great features in the pockets, vents and is well made.
